Weekly Rant 03/03/09

I'm no Republican. And while I love watching the already weakened Republican party tear itself in half I have to wonder. Why on Earth does the Chairman of the party have to apologize to Rush Limbaugh for refuting, gently, his idiotic and hate mongering comments about the Obama administration? Michael Steele was a pretty weak choice for Chairman of the RNC, but I really don't know who else they would've gotten (but if you ask Rush he'd suggest himself probably). But this level of weakness is beyond me. First Phil Gingrey called his refutiation of Limbaughs' stupidity a "foot in mouth incident". And now the Chairman of the RNC can't stand up to this moronic, hateful bully? The head of the party Limbuagh is supposedly a member of? I know Steele doesn't have the fan base of Limbaugh. And I know he doesn't have type of podium that Limbaugh does. But he's the head of the party. And it's his responsibility to ensure that it moves forward in the right direction. And what Limbaugh is doing is only pandering to the extreme far right of the country. And the Republicans aren't going to be winning anything with just that voting block. So Michael Steele, please, for the sake of your own party and for the sake of the country, grow a pair and put this nutter back in his place.
